Bachelor of
Library Science (BLIS) Course Objective-
The main objective of the Bachelor of Library and Information Science
(BLIS) Course to train and demonstrate students with various elements in
knowledge management. The BLIS course will demonstrate the application of the
Latest technologies IT services in the management of modern libraries
Management systems.
The bachelor's degree Course in the library and information science(BLIS) is intended to provide the training and skills for the management of Libraries.
Course
Structure: The Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) course
consists of a total of Eight Papers of 100 Marks each, out on which five shall
be theory paper (written examination).
It's
consists of two parts.
(a) Written
Examination carrying 80 Marks
(b)
Evaluation of Internal Assignment carrying 20 Marks.
Each Paper
Practical and one Project Work having Viva-Voce Examination.
All Students
admitted to the Bachelor of Library Science (BLIS) Course program are required
to pass each paper of the course separately. To pass each paper, a student must
secure at least 33% marks in each paper. To determine the above 33%. The marks
in each paper, the marks obtained by the student, in both the written
examination and assignment / practical work, as the case may be, will be
clubbed and counted together and the percentage will be determined accordingly.

The
candidate has failed to achieve or secure zero marks in the written examination
and/or homework and practical work, as the case may be, in any paper, he/she
shall be deemed to have failed in that paper.
Failing in
one theoretical/practical paper will means failure in the entire examination.
Where
students will take the practical training in computer usages (20 marks) as it is
considered important for the efficient management of libraries.
In order to
pass the BLIS exam, it will be necessary for every student, to secure at least
33% marks in each paper.
To determine
the 33% marks in each paper, the marks obtained by the candidate, both in the
term-and theoretical written examination and the practical examination/home
Assignment.
